For most, 2016 was a rough year. We lost a number of influential and beloved celebrities, and the less said about the American presidential election the better.

John and Max both agree that it won't go down as an all-time great year for movies, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to celebrate. In honor of Thanksgiving, they're recognizing some of the trends, performances, and unsung films that helped make 2016 special.

They also discuss The Edge of Seventeen, Sausage Party, and the final trailer for Jackie.
